F.A.Q

What gives DGI's decorative glass an edge in the designer glass industry?
It's a patented designer glass window system that adds value and stylish appeal. Individual framed beveled glass clusters are assembled into a decorative panel. This grid becomes a between the layers option that is similar to other internal muntin systems, but offers far greater value.

Why is it different from other decorative glass in an IG system?
Our patented beveled glass window panels are far easier to assemble than a solid fashion glass panel. They were held together through old-fashioned caming (leading), a slow tedious assembly process. It also adds far less weight to an IG panel.

Why is it better than solid-panel fashion glass?
Because it is made from 100% precision components - tubular metal and beveled glass clusters - Our designer glass system requires less skill and man hours to assemble. And, because it uses far less material than conventional solid glass panels, you save on materials costs. Also, a lighter weight window is easier to open and close - and less likely to put damaging stress on window hardware.

How much can I save - and make -- using DGI's designer glass?
It is an affordable alternative to the traditional triple glazing system. Fabricators typically use a 100% markup on the decorative grid assembly (grid and glass clusters). The price point achieved using this strategy is slightly above v-groove glass pricing - and well below that of triple-glazed leaded beveled products.

Why does DGI use real beveled glass?
After testing various plastic "glass substitutes," DGI concluded that no other material has the depth and dramatic ability to create magical prisms of light. Select pieces of 1/8" decorative glass is precision cut, beveled and polished by DGI to maximize visual impact.

Why is tubular metal framing used?
Anodized roll-form aluminum "pencil bar," made for DGI, is an attractive, rigid framing material, chosen for its overall quality and tightness of fit. The vacuum-deposition coated plastic connectors resist UV fading and match the metal perfectly.

Is DGI's decorative glass compatible with "warm edge" window spacers?
It is not only compatible, but it adds aesthetic value to increasingly popular "warm edge" spacers including Intercept™, Super Spacer™, and Truseal Flexible Spacer™ products. In fact, selected Fashion Glass™ patterns have been insulated in less than one minute each using a Lisec/Super Spacer™automated line.

Is DGI's designer glass suitable for both new and replacement windows?

Absolutely. Builders like Fashion Glass™ for its ability to "theme" their homes with decorative glass at reasonable cost, coordinating windows transoms and entry systems with the same patterns and colors. Replacement window fabricators use Fashion Glass™ to add real value and stylish differentiation to the products, for plus profit.

Our system works with any window framing material, from wood to vinyl to aluminum to fiberglass. For residential, institutional and commercial buildings in any climate.
